Individual therapy

Not every presenting concern requires EMDR. Sometimes what's needed is a skilled, trauma-informed therapist who can help you understand your patterns, build practical tools, and move toward the life you want — without the structured intensity of trauma reprocessing.

Individual therapy at NWMHA is grounded in the same trauma-informed foundation as everything else we do. Our therapists understand that presenting concerns rarely exist in isolation — anxiety has roots, reactivity has history, and behavioral patterns usually make sense once you understand where they came from.

What we work with

  • Anxiety, worry, and overwhelm

  • Depression and low mood

  • Life transitions — career, relationships, identity

  • Grief and loss

  • Relationship patterns and communication

  • Burnout and chronic stress

  • Self-esteem and self-understanding

Our approach

Sessions are collaborative, structured, and focused on real change — not indefinite processing. We draw on evidence-based approaches including CBT, and person-centered therapy alongside trauma-informed principles. If it becomes clear that EMDR would serve you better, we'll say so.

Note:
Kevin and Linda do EMDR exclusively. Our other providers do a mixture of EMDR and other therapies.
