Who We Are

Maria Radek BA

  • Supervised Graduate Therapist

  • EMDRIA Trained Therapist

Maria came to counseling through both lived experience and the work of supporting children. Adopted as a child, she became interested in psychology through her own history and through a deep curiosity about how early experiences shape the way people understand themselves, relate to others, and move through the world.

Her interest in EMDR became personal after experiencing trauma while working in a psychiatric hospital. After doing EMDR herself, she saw how powerful it could be — not just as a theory or technique, but as a way to help the brain process what has been overwhelming, painful, or stuck. That experience continues to shape the kind of therapist she is becoming.

Maria currently works as a paraeducator and is especially drawn to children, young adults, and clients with disabilities, including autism, Down syndrome, and other neurodevelopmental differences. She brings humor, empathy, and careful listening into the therapy room, and works to help clients feel understood without being judged, rushed, or talked down to.
