Who We Are

Sammy Chu, BA

  • Supervised Graduate Therapist

  • EMDRIA Trained Therapist

Sammy came to counseling through people. For most of her twenties she worked in the restaurant and hospitality industry — bartending, managing, eventually running her own bubble tea cafe. That work taught her to listen in the real sense: not just to be polite, but because the person in front of you needs to be heard and you're what's available.

She found purpose in that. And eventually she realized she wanted to do it better, with more skill and more intention. She is completing her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Southern New Hampshire University in a CACREP-accredited program, and brings a calm, grounded, genuinely curious presence to sessions.

Her deepest clinical interest is childhood trauma — specifically how early experiences continue to shape people in their adult lives, often in ways they can't quite name or explain. She is drawn to the stuck places, and to EMDR as the tool best suited for actually moving them.
